TAVO GUZMAN
Founder
President/Director of Coaching
Retired Professional Soccer player: Oakland Roots SC, while at Saint Louis FC he was coached by Hall of Famer Preki. Spent 3 years at Sacramento Republic FC, he was crowned USL Champion and scoring the game-winner. Also, western conference champions and clinched playoffs every year there. While playing at Chico State College he received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. Tavo’s role in this club is to oversee the club and bring new ideas and make it a fun learning environment for all players and staff.
JOSE CABEZA
General Manager/Camp Director
Born and raised in Antioch, California. Growing up he played for Diablo Valley Soccer Club. Attended Antioch High School.
Played D1 soccer for Saint Mary’s College of California. Jose helped the program achieve their first WCC championship in 2011. They made a run in the NCAA tournament that year and lost in the Elite 8. He attended SMC from 2009-2013 and earned his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology: Sports Management.
He is currently working as a Physical education teacher and finishing his masters degree in Education
JONATHAN BLAKE
Director of Operations
Jonny was fortunate enough to have the experience of traveling the world at a young age, learning and playing soccer while representing his youth club, academy, Region II ODP Team, and Sonoma State University. He has played in international competitions in England, Whales, Costa Rica, Italy, Holland, Germany, and Belgium. Jonny’s been coaching for 5 years and started MatchFit in 2018 after his collegiate career was over. He is a founder of Juego Sports, a soccer equipment supplier. He is also an official talent scout at IFX, an international soccer agency.
