Octavio "Tavo" Guzman
Octavio "Tavo" Guzman is a Retired Professional Soccer player with Bay Area roots. He played Chico State where the team clinched playoffs every year, and won the Western Conference Championship and he received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology.
Tavo played professionally with Oakland Roots SC, Saint Louis FC, and Sacramento Republic FC. His acclimates including having been coached by Hall of Famer Preki and being crowned USL Champion and scoring the game-winning goal.
East Bay FC is Tavo’s dream. Having grown up and seeing how soccer can feel out of reach for many families, he wanted to create a club where any child could improve in soccer without regard to family finances.
Jose "Pollo" Cabezas
Born and raised in Antioch, California. Growing up he played for Diablo Valley Soccer Club. Attended Antioch High School.Played D1 soccer for Saint Mary’s College of California. Jose helped the program achieve their first WCC championship in 2011. They made a run in the NCAA tournament that year and lost in the Elite 8. Pollo was recently admitted to the Saint Mary's Hall of Fame for soccer.
Pollo attended SMC from 2009-2013 and earned his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology: Sports Management. He is currently working as a Physical education teacher and finishing his masters degree in Education.
Pollo's commitment now to EBFC is to help the current teams develop and to grow a name for the club.
Jonny Blake
Jonny was fortunate enough to have the experience of traveling the world at a young age, learning and playing soccer while representing his youth club, academy, Region II ODP Team, and Sonoma State University. He has played in international competitions in England, Whales, Costa Rica, Italy, Holland, Germany, and Belgium. Jonny’s been coaching for 5 years and started MatchFit in 2018 after his collegiate career was over. He is an official talent scout at IFX, an international soccer agency, and has been coaching locally.
Jonny has strong ties to the community, and is a great asset for East Bay FC.
Ferid Celosmanovic
Ferid was born in Bosnia and spent 7 years in Germany before moving to the USA. Prior to attending Chico State, University, Ferid was able to go back to Europe to train with a couple of professional teams. During his two years at Chico State, he was an All-American and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Management with a minor in Project Management. Ferid's role is to create an environment in which all players and staff thrive and to ensure East Bay FC drives forward with its mission.
Tova Moore
Tova grew up in the Bay Area and was introduced to soccer by a classmate in elementary school. While never making it big through soccer like many in the EBFC team, Tova has always felt connected to the game and it's players and has played (pick up) on 4 continents!
Tova lives in Concord with her husband and three aspiring soccer player kids and is committed to the community with the hopes to see soccer become barrier-free for its youth.
